Akhasheni is a semi-sweet red table wine. The alcohol content does not go beyond 10.5-12%. The sugar content in wine is 3-5 grams per cubic centimeter. The titratable acidity is 5 grams per cubic decimeter (titration is the quantitative determination of a substance in a solution).
The color of Akhasheni wine is intensely red, the hue is ruby. It is associated with the Saperavi grape. Translated Saperavi means dye. Wines made on its basis are very difficult to dilute with water. The color of the wine will remain the same saturated and bright. The wine has a pleasant fresh aroma. The brightest accents are notes of blackberry and raspberry. The taste of Akhasheni wine is quite rich, dense, slightly oily. Taste buds instantly guess the taste of raspberries and ripe cherries, but the long aftertaste is filled with spicy notes with floral motifs.
Akhasheni wine goes well with meat dishes, especially spicy ones (ideally Georgian). It is often served with chocolate desserts or spicy cheeses. Akhasheni wine lovers drink it together with fruit cuts.
